Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2026
Acceptance of Terms
By using texaspowerbill.com ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Description of Service
Texas Power Bill is an electricity plan comparison tool for Texas residents. We analyze uploaded power bills, simulate costs against available plans, and provide recommendations. We are not an electricity provider. We do not sell electricity.
Eligibility
The Service is available to Texas residents in deregulated electricity markets served by CenterPoint, Oncor, AEP Texas, or TNMP. You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to make decisions about electricity service at your address.
User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Upload bills that are not your own without authorization
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer or scrape the Service
- Interfere with the Service or server infrastructure
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Upload malicious files or code
AI-Powered Bill Analysis
Our Service uses third-party artificial intelligence (AI) and large language model (LLM) services to parse and analyze your uploaded electricity bills. Currently, we use Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude for bill parsing, data extraction, and recommendation generation.
When you upload a bill, the contents of that document — including any personal information it contains (name, address, account numbers, usage data, charges) — are transmitted to these third-party AI providers for processing.
By uploading a bill, you acknowledge and consent to the following:
- Your bill data will be sent to third-party AI providers for automated analysis
- These providers may process, store, or use submitted data in accordance with their own terms of service and privacy policies, which may include using the data for model training, improvement, or other purposes
- We do not control how third-party AI providers handle data once it is transmitted to them
- You should review the privacy policies of our AI providers (currently Google and Anthropic) for details on their data practices
If you do not consent to your bill data being processed by third-party AI services, do not upload your bill. You may use our manual estimate tool instead, which does not require bill uploads.
Accuracy of Information
We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee that:
- Bill parsing will be 100% accurate for all bill formats
- Plan data reflects real-time availability or current rates
- Savings estimates will match actual results
- All plans in your area are included in our database
Plan data is scraped from public sources and may be delayed or incomplete. Always verify plan details with the provider before signing up.
No Guaranteed Savings
Our recommendations are projections based on historical usage and current plan rates. Actual savings depend on future usage patterns, rate changes, and other factors outside our control. We do not guarantee any specific level of savings.
Third-Party Services
If you choose to switch plans through our partner brokers, your relationship with that broker is governed by their terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the actions, services, or policies of third-party brokers or electricity providers.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, methodology, and content, is owned by Texas Power Bill and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TEXAS POWER BILL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Texas Power Bill and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Texas.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
